Business Development Consultant

Jan has over 20 years business development experience of the fashion and textiles sectors. Originally working in a marketing and trend forecasting role for five-years for Courtaulds in their knit/fibres/yarns divisions. Then successfully setting up a highly successful training operation for the fashion and lifestyles industries developing a profitable portfolio of UK and international clients. Significant successes since then have included attracting major funding awards for fashion showcasing facilities and business support programmes and developing innovative technology support and services.

Working at the CFE since April 2006, Jan has been responsible for securing funding and enhancing the CFE operational activities. Major European and  London Development Agency funding bids have been penned by Jan, as well as the CFE’s successful seasonal New York trade missions. Working with many of the CFE supported designers, Jan provides support on legal and contractual issues, and assistance with business development and planning.

Jan recently project managed two research projects for NESTA and the DCMS (NESTA : UK Designer Fashion Economy and barriers to growth in UK, and  DCMS : High-end fashion manufacturing in the UK – Product and process). She is currently project managing a new collaboration with NESTA and partners at the British Fashion Council and London MAS to develop new tool kits to assist high-end designers and manufacturers to improve their understanding of, and communications with, each other.
