Alliances | British Fashion Council

The British Fashion Council (BFC) aims to promote British fashion design worldwide.
The BFC’s principal activities are:  LONDON FASHION WEEK (LFW), the bi annual designer showcase, consisting of a catwalk schedule, presentation schedule, designer exhibition and recently introduced menswear showcase. It is the showcase platform for designer support schemes, NEWGEN, Fashion Forward and the recently introduced NEWGEN Men.

LFW is pivotal to the activities of the CFE and the support offered to our designers. Most of the designers supported by the CFE are already exhibiting here and in Paris. The combined support from the BFC’s New Generation catwalk/ exhibition sponsorship scheme and the CFE’s business support package provides our designers with the ability to launch themselves professionally into the international fashion arena.
Further recent collaborations have centred around the forming of an Alliance between the CFE, BFC, London MAS, UKFT and Skillset, being a consortium working together to deliver a strategy to support the UK’s high-end designer and manufacturing sectors. In support of this strategy, the Alliance has also developed a series of Toolkits, designed to aid designers and manufacturers to improve their communications with each other, and launched a new free database of UK high-end manufacturers and suppliers.
