BOOTCAMP – FAST-TRACKS NEW BUSINESSES
Hosted in central London over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of December, the Centre for Fashion Enterprise’s second Fashion Bootcamp brought together a group of fashion enterpreneurs with a team of eight expert coaches who were able to instil the importance of market research, market testing, robust supply chain and distribution networks, access to finance and IP protection.
The entrepreneurs came to the Bootcamp with an innovative range of new product and service ideas as diverse as new make-up ranges through to festival footwear, and new ready-to-wear lines through to e-commerce concepts.
An important part of the Bootcamp was for entrepreneurs to get expert feedback and to shape their business proposition under the guidance of the expert coaches. All entrepreneurs had the opportunity to refine their ideas and plans, and then pitch to our Dragon’s Den for a £1,000 cash prize from the Royal Bank of Scotland to assist fund their launch strategy.
The experts’ judgement was unanimous. The entrepreneur Phoebe Harrison was awarded with the £1,000 cheque for her online concept http://www.startplay.co.uk/ that is about to launch by end of this year.
The next Bootcamp is scheduled for June 2012. Further details will be posted on here later.
