James Long
London College of Fashion alumnus and Royal College of Art MA James Long was immediately hailed as ‘one to watch’ upon launching his first menswear and accessories collection at London Fashion Week in 2007. Winner of the very first NEWGEN Men sponsorship initiative in 2009, James Long’s catwalk show is always a hot ticket on Menswear Day at London Fashion Week, traditionally closing the entire event as the finale of the on schedule activity.
James’ collections which combine luxurious outerwear, leather jackets, unique denim treatments, embellished t-shirts, innovative knits and amazing leather bags, are sold through leading menswear stockists and consistently attract attention from major international brands and fashion houses. As a result, James was recently appointed as design consultant of a major Parisian leather house.
Also highly experienced in design collaborations, James developed a limited edition bag and t-shirt for Colette in Paris, and also created an exclusive collection of leather bags for Topman’s designer initiative ‘Lens’ which was sold through flagship stores in London, New York and Tokyo.
James Long recently launched a collection of womenswear for AW11 to much acclaim from the press. Focusing on his trademark knitwear pieces, long admired by women, it was presented on the catwalk at London Fashion week through Fashion East. Orders from key womenswear stockists were secured, creating a huge buzz for James and gaining positive feedback from editors and buyers alike.
