The Dutch/English, London based, design duo met while at Viktor & Rolf, and were united in their belief of beautiful craftsmanship and imaginative design. Synonymous for their use of interactive texture and sharp tailoring, the self described modern-traditionalists’ work focuses on beautiful fabrics that seduce, and shapes that are accessible yet distinctive.
Wouter Baartmans and Amber Siegel’s are graduates of the prestigious Menswear Fashion Design and Technology BA and MA courses at London College of Fashion in 2010, who showcase the best of British design, and already have the support of industry leaders, stylists, journalists and buyers.
Collaborations have included, the widely covered and acclaimed suede-tipped Brogue range with English shoemakers Grenson, and the on-going collaboration with Dutch based fur company Fur Lab. Baartmans and Siegel have gained the support of industry leaders, featured as part of Esquire and Colin McDowell’s 7 Brilliant Brits, in addition to presenting previous collections with Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East at Men’s Day of London Fashion Week.
The Baartmans and Siegel brand is fast becoming the one-to-watch with their current collections available from prestigious stores including Harrods and the Shop at Bluebird. Baartmans and Siegel have progressed from their SS12 collection at London Fashion Week, with Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s prestigious, ‘Men’s Ones To Watch Category’ to their debut standalone show as part of the Men’s day this season, as well as presenting with The British Fashion Council in the Portico Rooms.
