From the hallowed halls of Vogue to the mean streets of Shoreditch, the fashion pack is united in adoration. Austrian-Italian Peter Pilotto and Belgian-Peruvian Christopher De Vos may be relative newcomers but their pattern-swathed, unique take on modern elegance has already left an indelible print on the fashion industry. They met as students at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, where they defined an aesthetic mixing textile innovation (Peter’s area of expertise) with sculptural form (De Vos’ specialty)  Together, season after season, they have explored this collaboration, refining their initial concept with great commercial success. Such dedication to a mission statement has rewarded them beautifully. Peter Pilotto was awarded with the prestigious British Fashion Council’s Emerging Talent Award in 2009. They have also been awarded New Generation sponsorship, supported by Topshop for four seasons. Their Sring Summer 2011 collection has been greeted with a universal standing ovation.

Heralded by Suzy Menkes as a “dazzlingly modern show…leading fashion to a new place for 2010” the clothing was a mix of pixelated prints, daring colour (traffic cone orange punctuated dove tweeds) and texture (wool, fur, metallic leather; always layered in the most unexpected fashion.) Vogue editor, Alexandra Shulman commented: “I think what was wonderful about it was that they have taken what they do so well and moved it on. It was a really great show.”
