Aminaka Wilmont

Obsessive about shape and silhouette Aminaka Wilmont’s clothes exude a powerful yet serene spirit, reflected in their sensual shapes and precise colour palate. A London based duo, Marcus Wilmont (Danish) and Maki Aminaka Löfvander  (Swedish/Japanese) met while working for eccentric designer Robert Cary-Williams (where Maki was studio manager). Marcus studied fashion menswear at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art (MA) in London. He has won multiple of prizes and awards of which the most prestigious was “Collection of the year” at International Talent Support Competition (ITS4) in Italy.

The couple’s shared attraction to the avant- garde acted as a strong foundation for the brand, with a focus on technique that produces stunningly wearable clothes. Their runways feature graphic prints, washed leathers and luxurious silks explored with a mix of tailoring and soft drapes. Their creativity has previously won them the praise of prestigious fashion dignitaries such as Antonio Berardi, Boudicca and Eliza Palomino. Aminaka Wilmont was awarded the Fashion Fringe trophy 2007 by Tom Ford, Hamish Bowles, Elizabeth Saltzman and Christopher Bailey.
