Elisa Palomino
Graduated from Central St Martins with an M.A., Spanish born designer Elisa Palomino worked in the prestigious Fashion Houses of Moschino, Roberto Cavalli and Christian Dior Haute Couture. During 8 years she was the head of the studio for John Galliano and most recently Vice President of Design for Diane von Furstenberg.
In 2010 Elisa Palomino launches her own collection during New York Fashion Week. This first collection is bought in its entirety by Dolce & Gabbana for the opening of the concept store SPIGA 2. Further stockists are Couturelab- London, Ra-Antwerp and Paris, Eleonora – Rome, Rail – Brescia, Liliane Romi – Paris, Al Ostoura – Kuwait, Front Row – Beirut, Harvey Nichols & Mayass – Riyadh.
The same year Franca Sozzani selects Elisa Palomino to participate in ‘Whoisonext’, a contest sponsored by Vogue Italia and AltaRoma. Since then, her collections have been showcased at Milano On Stage, Milano Loves Fashion, AltaRoma and Cibeles Madrid. Having moved her creative studio to London, she starts showing at London Fashion Week, already with her Spring 12 collection at Vauxhall Fashion Scout.
Elisa Palomino’s clothes, stunningly feminine, are wise exaggerations of the flapper line, floral chiffon dresses and weightless transparencies in tiered chiffons and decadent embroideries. Elisa Palomino brings a fresh rococo to the runway, with deep obsessions for colours and prints, all in Asian influences.
