Riina O is a brand of luxurious hand-crafted leather gloves, joining traditional craftsmanship with modern technological advantages to create high-end design accessories. Keeping the sourcing and production as local as possible within Europe, all of the Deluxe line gloves are made upon order at their East London studio.
For each collection, a novel technique or material is introduced. Within the five and a half years of existence, Riina O has worked closely with a number of innovative technological processes, including laser cutting, waterjet cutting, hand and machine embroidery.
Riina O gloves are frequently displayed at Fashion Week show collaborations internationally and worn by celebrities from Whoopi Goldberg to French pop icon Petite Meller. Alongside glove collections, Riina O is preserving the tradition of hand-making leather gloves by teaching glove making workshops at universities worldwide – Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion and Royal College of Arts in London, Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Kolding Design School in Denmark amongst others.
Riina O is crossing over to the world of hand prosthetics with various collaborations. The Hands of X project explored the user-friendly organic materials with mix-and-match options for the hand prosthetics – the prototypes are currently on display at Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.
Riina O aims to amaze and inspire, never ceasing to surprise.
“I am extremely thrilled to be joining the programme! It is such an honour to be recognised by the CFE team. I hope this programme will help to promote Riina O traditional glove-handcraftsmanship joint with the tech innovation to the wider audience in the UK and internationally.” Riina O
