Agi & Sam
Agi and Sam respectively are sons of a Vicar and a Farmer. Whilst Sam was being born in the notoriously grey city of Birmingham, Agi had already spent 6 months acclimatizing to Northern English weather after been dragged away from Tanzania. Having been lovingly compared as fashion’s ‘Ant and Dec’, the two designers believe that fashion should never be taken too seriously.
The pair met whilst interning at Alexander McQueen Menswear: Agi was working in the design team after graduating in fashion design while Sam was producing prints on the back of his degree in illustration. Agi maintains that he disliked Sam the first time he met him, but Sam thinks that was a lie. After countless late evenings of work and nights out involving getting thrown out of Somerset House for running over an ice rink and waking up under a bridges in Waterloo they soon became friends (Against Agi’s will).
Over the next two years they worked in London for designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Armand Basi, J.W. Anderson, Blaak Homme, and Carolyn Massey before deciding to start Agi & Sam.
After years of countless menswear collections displaying either a fear to create something different or collections that push too far and never see the light of day they decided they wanted to sit firmly in the middle. With a strong emphasis on entirely bespoke print and humour the pair have had their collections shot by the likes of GQ, i-D, Dazed, Dansk, Vice, WAD, worn by The Red Hot Chili Peppers and are currently stocked in 6 stores worldwide.
3 season’s down Agi & Sam have been awarded the prestigious Topman sponsored catwalk show; MAN at London Fashion Week whilst in the meanwhile they sell their collections at Paris Fashion Week at BFC’s London Showrooms alongside the likes of Christopher Kane and E Tautz.
Agi ashamedly likes TOWIE, Sam doesn’t. Sam unashamedly likes football, Agi doesn’t. This is a perfect comparison for their working relationship.
