Jan Miller joined the CFE as a Business Development Consultant in April 2006.

With over 20 years’ experience in the fashion and textiles sectors, Jan cut her teeth in marketing and trend forecasting for Courtaulds. Later, spearheading a training operation, she attracted funding awards for showcasing and business support programmes and innovative technology solutions.

Jan has managed research projects for NESTA (UK Designer Fashion Economy and Barriers to Growth in UK, December 2008) and the DCMS (High-End Fashion Manufacturing in the UK: Product and Process, July 2009). In conjunction with NESTA, the BFC and London MAS, Jan has developed new tool kits to improve relations between designers and manufacturers.

Jan is an expert bid writer. Her bids have secured crucial funding from the European regional Development Fund, The London Development Agency and UK Trade and Industry. Working closely with the designers, she provides advice on legal and contractual issues, planning and business development.
