Thomas Tait Celebrates the Dorchester Award in NY

Last Wednesday 11th of May the Dorchester Collection celebrated the launch of the 2011 Dorchester Fashion Prize in North America at the New York Palace. Guests were also able to view the 2011 autumn/winter design collection from CFE Venture designer Thomas Tait –winner of the 2010 Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize in which he was honored with this event.

Thomas Tait won the inaugural fashion prize last year, having been chosen by a judging panel which included Manolo Blahnik, Giles Deacon, Daphne Guinness, Yasmin Le Bon and Stephen Jones.

The designer received £25,000 towards his next collection and the opportunity to use the Dorchester Hotel for an event of his choice. Thomas is also consulting on the staff uniform design at 45 Park Lane, which is the newest Dorchester hotel set to open this summer in London.

Boris attends the Bootcamp launch event

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, attended the Bootcamp launch event last Friday 13th of May at the British Library IP centre where he met with some of the leaders of industry including the CFE Designer Yasmin Kianfar.

CFE is running a new Bootcamp programme that is designed to support entrepreneurs to test their new idea, product or service’s viability and explore and plan their launch strategies using relevant media and hard to reach networks. If you have a new label, innovative idea, product or service, our team of experts can assist to fast-track your business to success.

The first programme will run in London over the 9^th and 10^th July 2011.

One lucky entrepreneur will also win £1,000 cash, for the best idea pitched to our experts during the Bootcamp.
